EYES WILD DRAG (ITALY)
”Playing with gender experimentation and the infinite masculine/feminine shades, starting from drag kinging experience and getting inspiration by typical drag entertainment. Drag king and Drag queen are their expressive roots, but they play with the pleasure of reinventing them. Wearing typical drag queen attributes and performing in playback, they also act out different ways of expression like pantomime, experimentation of oneself, playing with lights and shadows explaining ones mind and ones body transformations with lightness, irony but also with perseverance and sensuality.”

”Since 2008 the one-person-show Crazy Bitch in a Cave (CBC in short) has been shaking bangs of flowing hair and complicating gender concepts with eccentric live performances.
Performance art and pop, charts and subculture. CBC wants it all and much more. Thus the shows present an intricate unity of of visuals, sound and charisma.”

DIALOGUE ON RELATIONSHIP ANARCHY (ENGLISH/SWEDISH)
Talk about different ways of having relationships non monogamous. Do the people that you have relationships with have to be defined as lover, friend, acquaintance or any other different state, or are there other ways of not positioning our relationships in a hierachical way?
KNITTING & PATCHES (ENGLISH/SWEDISH)
Do you have a knitter inside you? Learn how to knit and make patches and teach others what you know from before the workshop. A place and time to inspire eachother and to make queer crafts.
About the camping: we are still in the process of getting all the permissions to make The Crow’s Hill our queerest, safest, most beautiful camping space – more info about camping will come!

17 maj 1990 är det datum då WHO (World Health Organization) tog bort sjukdomsklassningen av homosexuella. Idag firar vi den internationella dagen mot homo- och transfobi, IDAHOT. Tänk på att i samma lag som sa att homosexuella skulle tvångssteriliseras fanns även funktionshindrade, transpersoner, personer som ansågs psykiskt sjuka och/eller promiskuösa, romer och samer med på listan. Lagen togs bort 1976 (!), för alla grupper utom en: trans.
Queertopia uppmanar till aktivism idag för att uppmärksamma att arbetet inte är färdigt. Låt oss peppa varandra!

The 17th of May 1990 is the date that WHO (World Health Organization) removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders. Today we celebrate The Interational Day Against Homo- and Transfobia, IDAHOT. Remember that the same law that declared that homosexuals ought to be sterilized also did imply people with “disabilities”, trans persons and people that was regarded mentally ill and/or promiscuous, Romani and Saami people. The law was torn up in 1976, for all groups except one: trans.
Queertopia calls for activism today to celebrate, and to say that the work is not done. Let’s cheer each other onwards!

I årets festival väljer vi att ifrågasätta alkoholnormen. Vi ifrågasätter normen att en ska behöva dricka alkohol eller inta andra droger för att gå på fest eller festival och kunna ha kul. Vi vill inte bara ifrågasätta normer kring kön och sexualitet utan även den starka normen att en ska dricka alkohol för att socialisera. Vi hoppas att utan alkohol kan fler ta del av festivalen och byggandet av en queer utopi. Vi vill skapa en så fantastisk festival att alkohol inte ska behövas för att dansa in revolutionen.

This year we have decided to question the alcohol norm. We are questioning the norm that says that one has to use alcoholic beverages to have fun and socialise at a party or a festival. We believe that without alcohol, more people can take part in the festival and the making of a queer Utopia. We want to create such an amazing festival that alcohol should not be needed to dance into the revolution.

Queertopiafestivalen will hang around at Utopikarnevalen in Stockholm and dance and party until the night ends! We will show off our amazing new pink banner, our great glittering dance moves and show that the city of Stockholm is everyones and it is ours together!
